Group Writing Activity (Collaborative)

First part: Parts of a story short introduction or review

Step 1. Group students into 3,5 or 4 and have them form a circle. Teacher will ask each students to get 1 thing and put it on the table. It could be anything as long as each student will get 1 thing only. 

Step 2. The teacher will ask each group to show their things by raising it once their group's called. This is to make sure that they dont have similar items on the table. *things should not be the same*

Step3. Teacher will tell the students to write a story using the things on their tables. They can choose any object to start the story with. 

Step 4. In order that all the students can participate, one student will write a sentence or two then will pass the paper to the other member. In groups of 4 , 1 will write but the writer will not think because the other 3 will tell her what to write. The one who holds the pen will only write. The other members will help her on what to write. After some minutes, assuming the student have already written a sentence or two, the teacher will either say pass the paper now to the other student or will do any signiying that the paper should be passed to the other member. The process continues as they all finished writing.

After the writing activity ,you can have your students practice the story for an impromptu phantomime.

Phantomine- 1 student will read aloud the story while the other members act out the story in front. The video below is the phantomine presentation of my students after the writing activity.
